The Whole Island, Not Just Downtown
Our shop is on Vernon Street in Fernandina Beach, so the island is home ground for us. This page is about the rest of Amelia Island: the stretch south of the city limits along A1A and the Amelia Island Parkway, past Amelia City and down toward American Beach, the resort area on the south end and the bridge over Nassau Sound. It is about 5 miles from our door to the middle of that run.
Villas, Condos and Beach Houses
Housing on this part of the island leans toward oceanfront condominiums, golf and resort villas, townhomes tucked behind the dunes and single-family beach houses, many of them second homes or seasonal rentals. Some sit on raised foundations, while others are mid-rise buildings where the air handler lives in a closet and the dryer exhausts through a long shared chase.
That mix shapes the job. In a villa or condo, we usually work from one compact system with short supply runs, but the return grille and filter slot can be packed with sand-colored dust. In a larger beach house with two systems, the attic runs are longer and need more time.
Sea Breeze, Sand and Sticky Air
Wind off the Atlantic carries fine sand and moisture inland, and islanders tend to open sliding doors whenever the weather is nice. Both end up at the return. When the AC runs through the long humid months, that grit and lint stick to damp surfaces inside the ductwork instead of passing through.
Dryer vents take a beating too. Towels, swimsuits and beach blankets add up to heavy loads, and roof or side-wall vent caps facing the ocean can rust or jam.
Booking a Visit on the Island
For a typical villa, our basic air duct cleaning covers up to 10 vents for $199, with $29 for each vent past that. Larger homes with heavy buildup may be better suited to deep duct cleaning at $59.99 per vent. A dryer vent cleaning is $99 for the first 10 feet.
